LOUISVILLE, Ky., Sept. 10, 2008 – The latest addition to Honeywell’s (NYSE:
HON) line of pan/tilt/zoom (PTZ) cameras is the ACUIX™ ES, a more energy
efficient model that offers ease of installation and operation. The ACUIX ES
camera operates on less than 15 watts of power, compared to the 29 watts of
power consumed by other ACUIX models.
“To make sure the ACUIX ES offers the maximum benefit for the greatest number
of installations, we incorporated the features our customers told us they
consider as the most critical,” said Mike Scirica, global vice president of
marketing for video systems at Honeywell. “In addition, this camera provides a
green solution for users who are sensitive to today’s critical environmental
issues and committed to consuming less energy.”
A mere eight inches, the ACUIX ES has a reduced footprint that fits into most
surveillance environments. ACUIX ES simplifies installation by reducing the
number of parts dealers must order. It includes an in-ceiling housing and a
surface-mount configuration; installers can further reduce the profile by using
an integral recessed mount. The surface-mount version also can be converted to a
pendant mount with an additional bracket.
The camera also streamlines operations through Honeywell’s IntelliBus™
technology, which allows users to remotely upload firmware to all domes and
securely store all camera settings such as labels, presets, tours and privacy
zones. The ACUIX ES is also equipped with many software features that increase
performance and make installation and operation easy:
- Password
protection prevents unauthorized users from changing system settings.
- Coax video and two contact inputs are standard features.
-
Multi-language menus are provided for English, French, German, Dutch, Italian,
Polish, and Spanish.
Perfect for indoor applications, the ACUIX ES line includes an 18X auto-focus
PTZ dome with 470 TVL and a fixed camera option utilizing a 540 TVL camera with
a 2.8-10 mm Vari-focal Auto Iris lens.
The ACUIX ES also offers system flexibility and does not require owners to
invest in new equipment. It is fully compatible with all Honeywell digital video
recorders, encoders and matrix switchers and is backward compatible with all
existing Honeywell PTZ domes, in addition to many offered by third-party
manufacturers.
Honeywell will demonstrate ACUIX ES at ASIS International 2008. For more
