LOUISVILLE, Ky., Sept. 9, 2008 – Honeywell (NYSE: HON) today introduced a new
digital video recorder (DVR) to its existing Performance Series product line,
which includes IR mini-dome and bullet cameras. The Performance Series line of
cameras and newly-released HRDP DVR round out Honeywell’s portfolio with a
variety of cost-effective options that let users choose the ideal surveillance
solution for any application.
“Market research shows a growing demand for more cost-effective embedded
DVRs. The Performance Series HRDP offers a feature set comparable to many
high-end products, but at a more competitive price for most small to mid-sized
applications,” said Bill Durno, Honeywell product manager. “The HRDP is a strong
addition to the Performance Series line because it gives users the flexibility
they need to implement a feature-rich DVR solution while providing exceptional
value.”
Available in four, eight or 16 channels, the Performance Series HRDP DVR
offers a rich feature set typically found in more expensive units. Users, for
example, can remotely access the DVR using a web browser. This approach allows
them to view live video, search for video evidence and create video evidence
files without the need to load remote software onto their computers.
Additionally, the HRDP helps users prioritize video feeds and allows them to
simultaneously analyze multiple video frames. Other key features include:
- Video quality – MPEG-4 compression technology provides efficient use of
hard drive capacity, and users can set the recording resolution for each
camera at CIF, 2CIF or 4CIF. The resulting video quality is comparable to
high-end embedded DVRs.
- Easy setup – An Express recording configuration feature offers a
four-field menu to configure the DVR’s recording parameters. This menu allows
installers to substantially reduce the time needed to configure and commission
the unit.
- Prioritized images – A Smart Search playback function only displays stored
video feeds where motion is detected. This helps users quickly find the video
evidence they need.
- Advanced analysis – The Panorama feature allows a user to analyze multiple
frames of stored video simultaneously from any camera selected. This feature
substantially enhances the analysis process when looking for image-to-image
scene changes.
The Performance Series family also includes a wide range of high performing
IR bullet cameras and mini-domes that are easy to install and even easier to
use. The Performance Series DVRs and cameras meet user requirements for quick,
easy setup and operation.
Honeywell will demonstrate the Performance Series at ASIS International 2008.
