LOUISVILLE, Ky., March 25, 2009 – Honeywell (NYSE: HON) has expanded its IP security surveillance portfolio to allow customers to integrate a broader range of technology – including video analytics, megapixel cameras and a new video management platform – into existing analog systems. By integrating the latest in digital and IP technology with traditional analog components, end users can better control operational costs and maximize existing investments in surveillance equipment.

The enhancements include additions to Honeywell’s EQUIP™ Series of IP cameras, as well as the company’s new HCX Series of megapixel cameras and MAXPRO™ VMS video management system.

• The EQUIP Series of IP cameras provides extremely high-picture quality (up to 4CIF), efficiency (MPEG-4), and real-time video (30 fps). The EQUIP Series line includes two box cameras, a vandal resistant mini-dome, and the new ACUIX™ PTZ IP cameras. Designed for use as standalone solutions or as part of a completely integrated system, all EQUIP cameras feature an externally accessible web-based menu and camera tamper detection that lets users know instantly if a camera has been blinded or vandalized.
• The HCX Series of megapixel cameras provides network surveillance for high-resolution object recognition beyond standard analog camera capabilities, and offers installation and equipment cost savings. When object recognition is needed over a vast field of view, one megapixel camera can often perform at the same level as standard analog cameras. Additionally, IP connectivity lets users view and control cameras from virtually anywhere, and analog video output lets users quickly customize the camera setup and easily send snapshots or video clips to e-mail or FTP addresses.
• Honeywell’s MAXPRO VMS video management system is an intelligent management solution that controls existing digital and analog video infrastructures and third-party components to manage and present video in a clear and concise manner. It integrates with Honeywell’s Pro-Watch® security management platform to provide complete control of alarm/event actions from Pro-Watch.

All of Honeywell’s new IP camera offerings can be used with Honeywell’s Fusion III v3.6 DVR, which allows users to migrate their analog systems to IP at their own pace. Fusion III v3.6 offers a simple IP license so users can implement IP without installing a new DVR.

Honeywell’s IP surveillance offers easy installation with an auto-discovery feature for Honeywell’s IP and megapixel cameras and Rapid Eye, Fusion and Enterprise recorders. “The integration of Honeywell’s IP surveillance technologies with traditional analog components enables users to save money by maximizing their initial investment,” said Mike Harvey, senior marketing manager for video systems, Honeywell. “Users can add one camera at a time or thousands; they can use a single client workstation and server configuration or expand to multiple client workstations and servers to future-proof their digital video recording.”
